5 Promising Startups Backed By Third Cohort of Flipkart Leap Ahead

Flipkart Ventures has unveiled five startups selected for the third cohort of its accelerator program, Flipkart Leap Ahead (FLA).

Launched in 2022, the initiative aims to foster innovation in India’s startup ecosystem by providing equity investments of up to $500,000, mentorship from a global consulting firm, and strategic guidance to help early-stage businesses scale.

Since its inception, the FLA program has supported over 20 startups across sectors such as deeptech, fintech, health tech, GenAI, and sustainability.

Additionally, Flipkart Ventures recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to expand its support for Indian tech startups.

Regarding this development, Flipkart Ventures’ vice president stated,

“Through Flipkart Leap Ahead, we continue to act as a driving force in India’s startup ecosystem, fostering a culture of innovation and providing early-stage companies with the capital, mentorship, and strategic network they need to succeed.”

In 2023, the FLA program supported five startups: Algomage, Castler, FlexifyMe, NimbleBox.ai, and ReCircle. Earlier, in 2022, Flipkart Ventures backed six early-stage startups through the program, including Dopplr, Livwell, LogisticsNow, NeuroPixel.AI, Rightbot Technologies, and Sellerapp.

  • Xportel (Founded 2024): Established by Darpan Lamba, Xportel is a cross-border e-commerce logistics enabler that facilitates swift international deliveries to over 150 countries. The startup provides seamless shipping, real-time tracking, free insurance, and door-to-door express services, making global trade more efficient and accessible for Indian businesses.

  • Factors.ai (Founded 2020): Founded by Aravind Murthy, Factors.ai is a B2B marketing analytics platform that helps businesses enhance their return on investment (ROI), lower customer acquisition costs (CAC), and accelerate revenue growth. By capturing cross-channel intent signals, the platform enables data-driven marketing strategies, including targeted LinkedIn ads. In 2023, the startup secured $3.6 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Stellaris Venture Partners.

  • Expertia.ai (Founded 2020): Launched by Akshay Gugnani and Kanishk Shukla, Expertia.ai is an AI-powered HR tech platform that optimizes recruitment by automating talent acquisition, resume screening, and job matching. Leveraging artificial intelligence, it helps companies identify top candidates with greater efficiency. As of February 2024, the startup has raised $1.18 million across four funding rounds.

  • Bharat Krushi Seva (Founded 2021): Founded by Sharayu Lande and Hemant Dhole Patil, Bharat Krushi Seva is an agritech startup dedicated to empowering Indian farmers through data-driven advisory services, optimized agricultural inputs, and enhanced market linkages for better crop sales. The company claims its solutions help farmers reduce overall spending by 25%, increase crop yields by 33%, and boost income by 22%.

  • Visa2Fly (Founded 2019): Established by Dhruv Kumar and Vijayendra Bawa, Visa2Fly is a travel tech startup streamlining the visa application process with end-to-end digital support, including documentation, processing, and travel assistance. Serving over 60 countries, the platform also offers travel insurance plans starting at ₹149, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for travelers.

With a total fund of $100 million, Flipkart Ventures continues to invest in early-stage startups, supporting the next wave of digital innovation.

Notable portfolio companies include Ninjacart, Shadowfax, Blackbuck, FinBox, GOAT Brand Labs, and Hyperface. This latest cohort under Flipkart Leap Ahead reaffirms the company’s commitment to fostering cutting-edge startups that are shaping the future of technology and commerce in India.
