Mumbai, India – Suniel Shetty, Bollywood actor turned entrepreneur, has launched a new food delivery app called Waayu, promising to offer cheaper prices than popular competitors Swiggy and Zomato. The app, which is backed by tech entrepreneurs Anirudha Kotgire and Mandar Lande’s Destek HORECA, aims to provide a commission-free platform for restaurants.

The launch of Waayu comes at a time when many restaurants in Mumbai have been struggling with the high commission rates charged by existing food delivery services. Many businesses have been looking for alternatives that will help them reach more customers while also keeping their profit margins intact.

The app promises to offer a fairer deal for both restaurants and customers by eliminating commissions, unfair rankings, biased reviews, and poor quality support. According to the founders, Waayu will not charge any commission fees from restaurants, which will enable them to offer competitive prices and better value to customers.

“We believe that Waayu will transform the online food delivery industry by embracing a commission-free model. We have 16 revenue streams, but not all will kick in from the beginning. We will have a fixed fee deal with the restaurants at an introductory price of ?1,000 per month per outlet. Later, it will be increased to ?2,000 a month. There is no per-order commission,” said founder Anirudha Kotgire.

Waayu aims to support local restaurants in Mumbai and provide a platform for them to showcase their menus and reach more customers. The app has already partnered with several popular restaurants in the city, including Pratap Lunch Home, Delhi Darbar, and Jaffer Bhai’s Delhi Darbar.

Suniel Shetty, who is a well-known actor in Bollywood, is no stranger to the restaurant industry. He is the owner of several restaurants in Mumbai, including Mischief Dining Bar and H2O – The Liquid Lounge. Shetty believes that Waayu has the potential to revolutionize the food delivery industry in India.

“With Waayu, we are providing a platform for local restaurants to compete with the big players in the industry. We are confident that our app will offer better value to customers and provide a fairer deal for restaurants. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to expanding our services to other cities in India,” said Suniel Shetty.

Waayu is now available for download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The app has already received positive feedback from users, with many praising its user-friendly interface and competitive prices. With the launch of Waayu, it will be interesting to see how the food delivery industry in India evolves and whether other competitors follow suit in providing a commission-free platform for restaurants.
