Sonavi Kaicker is the CEO of Neemrana Hotels, which has 23 ancient properties that speak volumes about India’s wonderful legacy and rich culture. Each restored Neemrana home tells the story of two eras: one reminiscent of a traditional Rajasthani palace and the other catering to the values and tastes of the modern discerning traveler.
She earned a Masters of Research in Psychology before pursuing a second master’s degree in Management Research.
She has been an active participant in the Neemranification movement since 2010, and she just won the 4th Hospitality Leaders Industry Choice award in the category “Visionary Rising Star of the Year 2018” in Mumbai.
Kaicher attended Lady Shriram College in Delhi before going on to Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. She earned two Master’s degrees at Oxford: one in Psychology and one in Management Research. She had a few plausible options when she returned from Oxford, none of them were appealing to her.
Hospitality, on the other hand, appeared to be an excellent choice because it entailed working and connecting with others in various operational jobs, and it appeared to be a lot of fun! As a result, she spent a few years at Sarovar Hotels learning the foundations of hotel administration.
Despite the fact that her family was already involved in traditional hospitality, her uncle Aman Nath and late uncle Francis Wacziarg asked her to join them only after she had demonstrated her ability at Sarovar. Sonavi hasn’t looked back since, as each day brings new and fascinating challenges across their portfolio of 23 non-hotel properties!
Sonavi adds, “I am blessed to have a very supportive spouse and in-laws who are my backbone and care for our two daughters as much, if not more, than I do.”
Her 15-year hospitality experience stems from her role on Sarovar Hotels’ corporate development team. Her diverse areas of competence include business growth, operations, web marketing, and public relations.
Former national champion and the only Indian woman with an Oxford Half Blue.
The International Journal of Psychology published her study on Respect for Persons. She is an Honorary Member of the Amity University Advisory Board and a member of the NCR-India Hospitality & Tourism Council at WICCI. She is also the Co-Chairperson of ASSOCHAM’s National Council on Tourism and Hospitality, and an Honorary Member of the ASSOCHAM Women Forum.
