Pepperfry, a prominent Indian e-commerce platform for furniture and home decor, has announced the promotion of Madhusudan Bihani to the role of CFO.
Bihani, who joined Pepperfry in 2019 as AVP-Finance, was promoted to VP-Finance in 2021.
With nearly two decades of experience in finance, taxation, auditing, and corporate compliance, he has been instrumental in optimizing the company’s profitability and fortifying its financial and operational frameworks.
Prior to joining Pepperfry, Bihani spent 10 years with FMCG major Kraft Heinz, gaining extensive experience in corporate finance.
As CFO, Bihani will oversee Pepperfry’s corporate strategy, financial planning, fundraising initiatives, and legal and corporate affairs while driving the company’s growth and expansion efforts.
Pepperfry was founded in 2011 and has raised $302 million in funding over 13 rounds.
The company operates as a major player in India’s e-commerce landscape, providing a diverse range of furniture and home decor products. Its commitment to quality and a growing network of physical stores across the country have made it a household name.
The leadership at Pepperfry underwent a shift following the passing of its long-time CEO Ambareesh Murty, with Ashish Shah, the company’s co-founder, stepping into the role of CEO.
On the promotion of Madhusudan Bihani, Shah said:
“Madhusudan’s experience, combined with his strategic and leadership capabilities, will be critical in helping us execute our vision for the future. His contributions have been invaluable in strengthening our financial foundation, and we look forward to the continued impact.”
Pepperfry specializes in furniture and home decor, offering products that range from furniture to lighting and accessories.
