XpressBees Acquires Trackon, Aims to Strengthen E-commerce Logistics Dominance

In a strategic move that’s set to reshape the landscape of the e-commerce logistics sector, XpressBees, a prominent player in the industry, has announced its acquisition of Trackon, a well-established logistics and supply chain firm. This landmark deal marks XpressBees’ first foray into the acquisition arena since its inception in 2015, propelling the company to new heights in its pursuit of e-commerce logistics excellence.

The acquisition is poised to enable XpressBees to penetrate the SME courier space effectively. The startup, which has garnered significant recognition for its e-commerce-focused logistics solutions, is slated to leverage its existing network to expand the reach of Trackon across the entire nation. This synergy is expected to catalyze growth and innovation in the sector, offering improved services to clients and end-users.

According to sources, the financial particulars of the deal remain undisclosed. Nevertheless, industry experts have applauded the collaboration as a testament to the dynamism and potential of the e-commerce logistics market.

The acquisition will also bring about significant organizational changes. Prabhat Kumar Anand, the esteemed founder and CMD of Trackon, will continue to lead the company autonomously for a minimum of the next two years. Concurrently, as part of the agreement, three co-founders—Pramod Kumar Singh, Dinesh Rautela, and Yoginder Kumar Dabas—have made the decision to resign from their current roles, embarking on new and exciting professional ventures.

In an enthusiastic statement, P. K. Anand, CMD and co-founder of Trackon, underscored the potential of the collaboration: “By combining our experience with the capabilities of XpressBees, we will be able to expand our service lines to our existing clients, while continuing to offer best-in-class services.”

Trackon, boasting a history spanning two decades, is recognized as a formidable player in the logistics arena, generating an impressive Rs 350 crore in revenue. Its expansive reach is evident in the 5,600 pin codes it serves across India. Moreover, Trackon is poised for even more ambitious expansion, with plans to expand its services to a staggering 12,000 pin codes within the next couple of years. The company’s FY22 financials showed an operating revenue of Rs 283 crore, coupled with a noteworthy profitability of Rs 8.22 crore.

On the other end of the spectrum, XpressBees stands as the third-largest logistics and supply chain enterprise in the new-age landscape. It secured unicorn status following a $300 million funding round in February 2021 and has facilitated secondary transactions valued at $65 million since August 2022. With nearly Rs 2,000 crore in revenue as of FY22, XpressBees has solidified its position as a heavyweight in the sector.

While XpressBees’ FY23 financial figures have yet to be unveiled, the Trackon acquisition is poised to further augment the company’s growth trajectory. As the e-commerce industry continues to expand and evolve, this collaboration signifies a bold step toward solidifying India’s position as a global leader in e-commerce logistics solutions.
