On October 13, 1999, Neelakantha Bhanu was born in Eluru to Srinivas Jonnalagadda and Hema Siva Parvathi.
He had a difficult start in life. He had a tough start to life in 2005, at the age of five, after been involved in an accident at such a young age. It was a frightening experience for him because the bike he was riding had crashed with a bus. He was admitted to the ICU of a hospital with a significant head injury that resulted in a protruding skull and was released after 70 stitches.
As part of Bhanu’s recuperation, the doctor advised focusing mostly on his mental engagement. He was a mathematical prodigy from childhood, and he began competing in various events at the age of five.
He graduated from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavans at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. He earned a BSc Honours degree in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College in Delhi in 2020.
Bhanzu, situated in Hyderabad, was founded in 2020. Bhanzu provides a math study curriculum. Their mission is to eliminate worldwide math phobia and improve kids’ perceptions of math in order to create a better world. Bhanu Prakash, 21, owns four world records and 50 Limca records for solving arithmetic problems quickly. He has also spoken at 6 TEDx speeches, been to 23 countries, performed 500+ stage shows, and influenced 2 million pupils.
He is also the first Indian to win a gold medal in the Mental Calculation World Championship at the Minds Sports Olympiad in London. It is an annual competition that includes several mind games that put math skills to the test. He finished 65 points ahead of the second-placed Lebanese candidate.
He is also the founder of “Exploring Infinities,” a non-profit organisation that works with students and employees from various educational and professional institutions. Bhanu Prakash’s alias is “The Number Prodigy.” Aside from his accomplishments and hours spent practising calculations, Neelakantha Bhanu enjoys travelling and spending up with his friends.
