Successful businesswoman and entrepreneur Namita Thapar has made a huge impact on the commercial world. She is a well-known businesswoman and investor in the pharmaceutical industry.
Namita Thapar was born on 21st March 1977 in Pune city of Maharashtra and belongs to a Gujarati family. Namita’s father Satish Mehta is an Indian businessman. She finished her education at Pune, Maharashtra. She excelled in class 12 and was a deserving student from the start. She applied to Savitribhai Phule Pune University after completing her secondary education to pursue a bachelor’s degree.
Namita Thapar graduated from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s CA programme (ICAI). The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University is where she later obtained her Master’s degree in Business Administration.
She began her career in the hotel business, holding a variety of positions with the Taj Group of Hotels. She later transitioned to the aviation sector and joined the founding team of Jet Airlines.
Namita joined the Emcure Pharmaceuticals firm, run by her father Satish Mehta, as director of marketing in 2006. Namita started her own business in 2012 and served as CEO of Ogilvy Public Relations Global India for four years.
In ICICI Venture, the private equity division of ICICI Bank, Namita was appointed Executive Director in 2016. Her job was to oversee the company’s investments in the consumer and healthcare industries.
In 2017, she founded Incredible Ventures Ltd, her own business. The education firm Fantastic Ventures has offices in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.
As of 2018, Namita served as Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ Executive Director. She is currently in charge of accelerating the company’s expansion into India and other foreign markets.
Namita is married to businessman Vikas Thapar and has two sons, Vir Thapar and Jai Thapar who were named after Namita’s favorite film Sholay. Namita likes to travel, play, and write in her free time.
She received a lot of attention and the spotlight as a result of her appearance on the Indian television programme Shark Tank. Namita Thapar charges Rs 8 lakh per episode for ‘Shark Tank India’. Her on-screen persona inspires and engages many aspirational business people. She is also an investor in the show and has made some wise selections to support the ambitions of a few contestants.
