Professional networking platform Medial has raised $500,000 in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Ortella Global Capital (OG Capital), founded by Rajvardhan Mohite and former IFC executive Sayan Ghosh.

This marks the platform’s second funding round in 2024, following a $120,000 pre-seed round in January led by FirstCheque VC.

The newly acquired funds aim to expand Medial’s offerings, enabling it to develop an integrated platform tailored for the global startup and tech ecosystem.

The platform focuses on fostering meaningful professional connections, career growth, and delivering high-quality, relevant content.

About Medial:

Founded in 2023 by Niket Raj Dwivedi, Aishwarya Raj Pandey, Prateek Kaien, and Harsh Dwivedi, Medial serves as a content-driven networking hub for professionals, particularly in tech, product management, and UI/UX design.

The platform distinguishes itself by combining real identities akin to LinkedIn and GitHub with anonymous networking features, providing users with a unique, hybrid experience.

Medial supports open conversations, startup news, industry insights, and professional advice, avoiding clickbait while promoting collaboration and innovation.

“There is no dedicated space on the internet for the startup and tech community which fosters innovation and growth,” said Niket Raj Dwivedi, Founder and CEO of Medial. “We built Medial to address these gaps — a platform prioritizing learning, collaboration, and informed conversations. Our goal is to make every moment spent on Medial valuable and productive.”

Dwivedi also noted that Medial is on track to achieve profitability within the next two quarters, aiming to become one of the few Indian consumer platforms to reach this milestone at scale.

Since its alpha launch, Medial has amassed 100,000 members, including tech professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors, with 10,000 daily active users.

The company has plans to expand into a global job board and company profile site connecting product managers, UI/UX designers, business analysts, venture capitalists, and aspiring entrepreneurs.

Medial competes with platforms such as Grapevine, Hood, FishBowl, Blind, and Reddit.
