Mumbai-based personal care brand FAE BEAUTY, founded by Karishma Kewalramani, has raised ₹1 crore for 1.5% equity on Shark Tank India Season 4.
Known for its commitment to inclusivity and authentic beauty, the brand initially sought ₹1 crore for 1% equity, valuing the company at ₹100 crore.
In the episode, Karishma’s pitch quickly captured the attention of the sharks. “Fae Beauty… free and equal beauty,” she declared confidently. When Peyush Bansal questioned her about sales, Karishma revealed: “First year, we earned ₹30 lakh at a loss of ₹80 lakh. In the second year, we earned ₹3.3 crore at a loss of ₹2.5 crore.”
Namita Thapar challenged her on the brand’s scalability, prompting Karishma to reply unwaveringly, “I will dilute myself, but I will keep my company going. It is going to work.” Her determination earned Anupam Mittal’s salute, as he commended her resilience in navigating challenges.
All five sharks—Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, and Peyush Bansal—showed interest in the startup. Eventually, Namita Thapar and Aman Gupta collaborated, offering ₹1 crore for 1.5% equity in the company.
Founded in 2019, FAE BEAUTY (an acronym for “Free and Equal”) offers a range of over 50 products, focusing on inclusivity and unfiltered beauty. These products are available on its website and various online marketplaces.
