Raincheck Earth Co., the maker of Cherrapunji Craft Gin, has secured $1.2 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Japanese investors.

AngelList India Syndicate also participated in the round, increasing its stake from an earlier investment. The startup had previously raised a seed round in May 2023.

The fresh capital will be used to drive domestic and global expansion, with a strong focus on enhancing distribution and increasing brand visibility in key markets.

Founded by Mayukh Hazarika, Cherrapunji Craft Gin was launched in 2023 from Cherrapunji, Meghalaya—a region renowned for its record-breaking rainfall.

The gin is uniquely crafted using purified rainwater, infused with handpicked botanicals from Northeast India.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, the brand packages its gin in military-grade stainless steel bottles, reducing its carbon footprint and promoting reusability.

Since its launch, Cherrapunji Craft Gin has gained international recognition, winning 13 global awards and solidifying its position as a premium craft spirits brand.
