Spacetech startup Astrogate Labs has raised $1.3 million in pre-Series funding, led by Piper Serica Angel Fund.

The investment will accelerate the development of Astrogate’s laser communication terminals for space, terrestrial, and airborne applications, enhance operations, and strengthen partnerships with space agencies and defense organizations.

Founded by Nitish Singh, Yogeshwaran J, and Subhajit Chakraborty, Astrogate Labs aims to improve data downlink for small satellite constellations, enabling more efficient data transmission to Earth.

With over 25,000 small satellites expected in orbit by 2030, current radio frequency systems face bandwidth limitations and spectrum congestion.
