StepOut, a sports performance analysis and ecosystem technology startup, has raised $500,000 in its seed funding round led by Rainmatter, the investment arm of Zerodha, founded by Nithin Kamath.

The round also saw participation from IndigoEdge, Marwah Sports Group, and Misfits Capital.

The fresh funds will be used to expand StepOut’s international presence, targeting key markets such as the US, Australia, the Middle East, and Spain.

Additionally, the company plans to enhance its AI capabilities and further develop its platform, including an admin web app for coaches and analysts and a mobile app for players.

Founded in 2020 by Jeet Karmakar and Sayak Ghosh, StepOut leverages AI-driven SaaS technology to automate the traditionally manual data collection process for coaches and analysts.

By enabling video-based remote analysis, the platform reduces effort and time by 80% while ensuring 99% data accuracy in tracking player performance and on-field events.
