India’s fitness and health landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, with an increasing focus on wellness and nutrition. Protein consumption has seen a steady rise as more people adopt healthier lifestyles.
In this shift, influencers have played a crucial role in educating the public and connecting them with reliable health products. Among them is Gaurav Taneja, popularly known as Flying Beast, who has successfully transitioned from being a content creator to the founder of a fitness supplement brand, BeastLife.
Born on July 9, 1986, in Kanpur, Gaurav’s academic brilliance became evident early when he cleared the IIT entrance exam in 2004, eventually earning a degree in civil engineering from IIT Kharagpur. However, his aspirations extended far beyond engineering. Pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot, he joined IndiGo Airlines and reached the rank of captain.
It was during his time as a pilot that Gaurav’s interest in vlogging took flight. He began sharing snippets of his life, initially focusing on his travel experiences.
His engaging content resonated with audiences, and soon his YouTube channel, Flying Beast, gained immense popularity. Launched on December 1, 2017, it grew to include a blend of lifestyle vlogs, gaming videos, and glimpses into his personal life with his wife, Ritu Rathee Taneja, a pilot and influencer herself.
While excelling as a social media personality with over 9.27 million subscribers on Flying Beast and 2.11 million followers on his fitness-oriented YouTube channel, FitMuscleTV, Gaurav also cemented his reputation as a fitness influencer.
This led him to launch BeastLife in 2024, along with his partner, Raj Vikram Gupta. Headquartered in Gurugram, BeastLife was created to meet the growing demand for fitness supplements tailored to Indian consumers.
BeastLife introduced a range of fitness products, including Roti Protein Mix, Whey Protein, Mass Gainer, and Peanut Butter, all developed with a focus on quality and safety.
A standout feature of the brand is its product authentication system, which allows customers to verify their purchases and build trust in the competitive supplement market.
The brand’s launch was a resounding success, achieving ₹1 crore in net sales within the first hour of its website going live.
In less than a year, BeastLife has made significant strides, with a valuation of $597,000 as of July 19, 2024.
The involvement of Varun Alagh, co-founder of Honasa Consumer Private Limited, as a stakeholder has further strengthened the brand’s position in the industry.
Gaurav’s extensive social media presence has been a cornerstone of BeastLife’s visibility and growth. His authentic approach and commitment to fitness continue to inspire his millions of followers.
In addition to fitness supplements, Gaurav has diversified his entrepreneurial ventures with Rosier Foods, an organic food brand offering products like ghee made from Gir cows raised on his Gujarat farm.
The brand is soon to be featured on Shark Tank India Season 4.
