Aurangabad-based Gudworld, a startup offering organic jaggery as a healthier alternative to chemical-laden sweeteners, captivated the sharks on Shark Tank India Season 4.
Founded by Preeti Shinde and Sayali Babasaheb, the company is on a mission to revolutionize the sweetener market with pure, convenient, and flavorful jaggery products.
The founders sought ₹50 lakh for 2% equity, valuing the company at ₹25 crore. After a compelling pitch, they successfully negotiated ₹50 lakh for 5% equity, revising the valuation to ₹10 crore. Shark Aman Gupta sealed the deal, committing both investment and mentorship to help scale the brand.
About Gudworld
Launched in 2020, Gudworld operates in the food and beverage sector, providing jaggery in user-friendly forms like cubes and powders.
These products aim to eliminate the bulkiness and mess associated with traditional jaggery. The jaggery cubes, available in 5g to 10g sizes, are a unique selling point, offering convenience without compromising quality.
Additionally, Gudworld boasts 12 innovative flavors of jaggery, marrying tradition with enhanced taste and health benefits.
The brand’s deep roots in a 40-year-old family business in sugarcane farming and jaggery production, combined with an in-house US-FDA-certified steel manufacturing facility, lend it significant credibility and scalability.
While financial profitability remains undisclosed, this investment signals a pivotal milestone in Gudworld’s journey. Commenting on the association, Aman Gupta shared his enthusiasm for supporting a brand that bridges tradition with modern consumer needs.
