Bumboo Raises Angel Funding from Industry Leaders

Bumboo, a New Delhi-based eco-friendly packaging startup, has completed its first round of angel funding.

While the funding amount remains undisclosed, notable investors include Rohan Bhargava (Co-founder, CashKaro), Saurabh Gupta (Co-founder and CEO, UrbanPiper), and Shashank Bijapur (Founder, SpotDraft), among others.

The funds will be used to expand the brand’s footprint in Indian and international markets.

About Bumboo

Founded in 2019 by Anirudh Balakrishnan (Bala), Rohit Keshan, and Praveen Kumar, Bumboo develops sustainable packaging solutions by repurposing agricultural waste such as sugarcane bagasse and wheat straw.

This initiative addresses waste management challenges and contributes to reducing air pollution caused by crop burning, a significant issue in cities like Delhi.

Bumboo has served over 3,500 businesses, including major names like Zomato, Swiggy, ITC, Chaayos, and Barbeque Nation.

The company offers a portfolio of over 50 plastic packaging alternatives, catering to the food service industry, including cloud kitchens and food delivery businesses.

With operational bases in Bengaluru and Mumbai, Bumboo focuses on making sustainable packaging accessible to businesses and aims to support environmentally friendly practices in the food and beverage sector.
