Foodtech major Swiggy has launched a new service aimed at assisting its restaurant partners in sourcing essential kitchen equipment.
The service simplifies the procurement process for appliances such as freezers, cookers, microwaves, and chillers by connecting restaurants with trusted vendors offering competitive prices.
In a recent blog post, Swiggy announced that restaurant partners can now access this streamlined process for purchasing kitchen equipment through the Swiggy Owner App or by filling out an online form. Once registered, restaurant owners will be contacted by suppliers to discuss their operational needs and make informed decisions based on available options.
The service is designed to help restaurants efficiently manage their kitchen operations, saving them time and effort in sourcing appliances.
It aims to provide restaurants with access to essential equipment at competitive prices, catering to their unique business needs.
Swiggy’s Growing Portfolio of Services:
The company has been on a spree of launching new initiatives. One of these is the development of ‘Yello’, a service marketplace that connects consumers with professionals such as chefs and beauticians.
Last month, the company launched “Swiggy Seal”, a label for restaurants that meet hygiene, food quality, and packaging standards based on insights from over 7 million verified customer reviews.
Besides, the brand launched Swiggy Bolt for 10-minute food delivery in six cities and Swiggy XL EV fleet for bulk orders in Gurugram.
The company is also piloting a premium membership program, Rare Club, with annual fees starting at INR 50,000, aimed at catering to high-end consumers.
Another initiative, “Pocket Hero”, was launched last year to cater to cost-conscious users, primarily targeting students and newcomers, providing more affordable food delivery options.
Similar initiative by its rival Zomato has rolled out earlier this year to assist restaurants with various operational needs, including hiring, FSSAI registrations, taxation, and trademarking.
This growing trend in the foodtech industry highlights the increasing competition between the two giants as they seek to offer comprehensive solutions to restaurant partners.
