D2C Startup Perfora Raises INR 40 Cr from RPSG Capital

D2C oral care startup Perfora has successfully raised INR 39.8 crore (approximately $4.7 million) in a funding round led by RPSG Capital Ventures exclusively reported by Inc42.

The round also saw participation from Sauce VC, Lotus Herbals Family Office, Sara International Family Office, and several individual investors, according to regulatory filings.

The funds will be used to expand Perfora’s product portfolio, with plans to introduce new products addressing specific oral care concerns such as whitening, sensitivity, and tooth pain relief.

Founder Jatan Bawa stated, “Going forward, we will be expanding our product portfolio and will be introducing an innovative toothpaste formulation along with products targeting specific concerns.

Founded in 2020 by Naman Pushp, Airbound specializes in creating next-generation drones designed to lower last-mile delivery costs.

In February 2023, Perfora raised $2.5 million in a funding round led by RPSG Capital Ventures. Prior to that, the startup raised $1 million in a seed round from Sauce VC. With this latest round, Perfora has raised a total of $8.4 million to date.

The company has also attracted notable angel investors, including Aman Gupta and Sameer Mehta of boAt, Bala Sarda of Vadham Teas, and Shashank Mehta of The Whole Truth.

Perfora’s sales saw a remarkable surge of 970%, reaching INR 15 Cr in FY23, up from INR 1.4 Cr in the previous year. However, its net loss also increased fivefold, rising to INR 4.9 Cr from INR 1 Cr in FY22.
