Bengaluru-based sports technology startup Str8bat has successfully raised $3.5 million (approximately Rs 29.3 crore) in its latest Series A funding round. The investment was led by Exfinity Venture Partners, with additional backing from TRTL Ventures, Eternal Capital, and VCats group, which includes Venture Catalyst and VCgrid. Existing investors such as Techstars and the SucSEED Indovation Fund also participated in the round.

Str8bat plans to utilize the fresh capital to enhance its product development, introduce new product lines, and expand its marketing efforts and geographical reach. The startup is on a mission to revolutionize the way athletes measure and improve performance through accessible, data-driven technology.

Gagan Daga, Co-founder and CEO of Str8bat, commented on the company’s vision, stating, “Our goal is to bridge the gap between grassroots and professional players, redefining how performance is measured and improved through technology that is accessible to all.

Founded in 2018 by Gagan Daga, Rahul Nagar, and Madhusudan R, Str8bat has developed an innovative platform that provides real-time data analytics for athletes. The company’s flagship product is a sensor that attaches to the back of a cricket bat, offering instant feedback to players, helping them improve their game through data insights.

The startup recently collaborated with SG Cricket to launch the world’s first smart willow, a cricket bat embedded with IoT technology that tracks shots without requiring cameras, further cementing its position as a leader in sports technology.

With over 400 elite players using its platform and millions of shots recorded, Str8bat is positioning itself as a trailblazer in performance-enhancing technology for cricketers. The company aims to reach over one million players in the next five years, focusing on making cutting-edge sports analytics widely available across different levels of play.
