Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra, celebrated for his outstanding achievements in men’s javelin throw, has made a significant entry into the startup arena by investing in Stage, a regional streaming platform. The partnership was officially announced at a press meet held in Khandra, Neeraj Chopra’s ancestral village in Panipat.

While specific details about the investment remain undisclosed, Neeraj Chopra expressed his broader vision for the collaboration. “My investment in Stage represents more than just a desire to rekindle the flames of our diverse regional dialects. We will embark on a journey together to reawaken dormant languages and empower every voice, ensuring that our cultural heritage thrives in its true form through this platform,” said the Olympic and world champion.

Stage, an Indian language content platform (OTT), prides itself on being a pioneer in artist-led entertainment focusing on regional dialects.

With over 6 million installs and a community boasting more than 550,000 paying subscribers, the platform has carved a niche by offering content in various Indian languages, spanning poetry, comedy, storytelling, and more.

Vinay Singhal, the co-founder and CEO of Stage, emphasized the platform’s commitment to regional content and storytelling. “We believe in the compelling force of storytelling and the unifying potential of regional content. Neeraj Chopra’s involvement adds an impactful and relevant dimension to our mission,” Singhal remarked.
